PS3 [Update r5 released] Super Mario War v1.8_r4 - New Enchantments + Ps3HEN (signed) by blckbear

Update (December 05, 2019) -- r5 has been released

dSuper Mario War was ported to PlayStation 3 (PS3) Custom Firmware originally by lahrymose, the installation back then required a pkg install and then data files to be placed on root of the PS3 HDD. Recently psx-place user @blckbear_ had released two revisions (r3 / r4) which has negated the need for the data files and only the pkg needs installed now. Also this pkg is signed and works with not only CFW but also PS3HEN. Plus blkbear_ also has added several other subtle enchantments for your viewing pleasure..

What is Super Mario War? It's a fan created homebrew game that is a tribute to Nintendo and some of its iconic characters. its a grueling multiplayer (up to 4) stomp fest while navigating various obstacles to squish your opponent(s) , The hunter becomes the prey very quickly in this addicting party game, Below we have attached a video demonstration of Super Mario War gameplay in action on a PS3 Console (note: video is v1.8_r2 )

    Super Mario War 1.8_r4

Super Mario War PS3 Port by lachrymose, updated to work without the need of copying the game files to '/dev_hdd0/' or a USB stick. Resigned to 3.55 to work with HEN.
Tested on SuperSlim on HFW 4.84.2 using HEN v2.0.0.

    Changes:
UPDATE r5 UNINSTALL PREVIOUS VERSION BEFORE INSTALLING 1.8_r5
    r5:

    • Now it's only 24MB (deleted a lot of unused leftover files)
    • Source available on GitHub (link)

    r4:
-Made a background with game assets so it fits better the game
    -Fixed the game icon (again)

and that's it, I just couldn't stand the previous icon/wallpaper.
    r3:
    - Automatically installs 'smw' folder to '/dev_hdd0/game/SMW00PS33/USRDIR/' and code changed to read that folder from there.
    - Fixed XMB icon proportions.
    - Added XMB wallpaper.
    - Changed name in PARAM.SFO from 'SuperMarioWar' to 'Super Mario War'

Thanks to lachrymose for making the first port and @aldostools for the 25 directory depth psn_package_npdrm.exe (thanks to that I was able to add the 'smw' folder in USRDIR).

If you want I can release my source (I just changed the directory of the game's files inside the paths.cpp file, nothing big) but I can upload it and also the icon/background (those can be extracted from the PKG as well as you may already know)

Edit: Here's my source (as I said, didn't change much, just a piece of text in a file): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1MDYUeWuxkR4r53svho93d277-LTNSrR8

Also linked it in the resource page of SMW

I'm not a CFW user as I have a super slim model so I guess I'm not the best for trying to help, but just to check:
1) what's exactly the error you're given?
2) this is a retail signed PKG, not a debug PKG. In HAN's early days, if you enabled debug PKG installation you couldn't install retail PKGs. Maybe the issue lies on something similar. (I know you're on CFW, I'm just brainstorming)
3)If the problem persists maybe try re-downloading the package.

This is the first problem that has been reported so I don't really know if the error is on my side or not. I'll be waiting for your reply and more than willing to help
