PS3 [UPDATED 3-3-19] webMAN MOD 1.47.09 - 4.84 CFW (CEX) Support Added

webMAN MOD has received an update after developer @aldostools provided details and code that needed to be compiled for the new update,. Since developer aldostools doesn't have a ps3 environment setup currently for compiling. He requested someone to make the compile for him and our very own @kozarovv step in and compiled the latest update for webMAN MOD that should provide proper 4.84 CFW (CEX) support for the popular plugin.

WebMAN MOD is a plugin (by @aldostools) which is a fork of the master project from @deank's webMAN (or sometimes unofficially called webMAN "vanilla") and while deank version is equipped with plenty of great features the "MOD" version takes it a bit farther and adds some new functionality not found in the original project, If you would like to learn more about the webMAN MOD plugin there is no better place then to checkout the official forum here in the psx-place forums with tons of information to get the most out of this handy plugin for CFW enabled PS3's with background plugin functionality (A Cobra CFW or a Standard CFW with MAMBA installed and equipped).

Added 4.84 DEX / DECR - @Joonie could you verify it?
https://www.sendspace.com/file/9hc7d8 - SRC + PKG

This version will show the firmware version reported by the system in future updates if LV2 offsets remain the same than 4.75-4.84 CEX or 4.82-4.84 DEX.

It adds support for the following 2 new commands to boot_init.txt (more details in this post):
abort if R1
abort if L1

The script commands now are case insensitive.

I found the solution to my problem, I looked in webman mod and instead the solution was the simplest
in my case it is also necessary to disable the boot from system settings of the ps3 and not only from the webman mod
before with the 1.47.06 version it was not necessary, now with 1.47.10 yes
Thanks for your help:cheerful:

Works fine :) Thank you. I also left you a message a few days ago, I guess you're not online any more.

Can you please make an updated one with the metalification theme? I really like that one if it's not too much work for you. Thanks!

The rar above already includes the regular updater and the updaters with metalification and rebugification themes.

Thanks for the feedback. Now I saw your message in Skype.... Congratulations for your new job!
It makes me super happy to know that you're enjoying what you are doing now :)

Regarding the issue with "idle_plugin" on DEH you can comment the 3rd line with #define WM_PROXY_SPRX in the flags.h file and the resulting sprx should generate the XML as the original webman (opening the browser instead of use a wm_proxy.sprx). Alternatively you can obtain a similar result deleting /dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_res/wm_proxy.sprx on DEH.

The rar above includes the latest source code of version 1.47.11, so you can compile it yourself ;)

Should I take any action about this warning on rebug's site:
*** Due to the issue with WM_PROXY, 1.45.11 and below is recommended for DECR***

I already bundled the customized webMAN MOD based on 1.45.10 since the latest one with that wm_proxy disabled doesn't run as good as retail. I don't think you should worry about that since you don't have the physical unit or any testers that can help you debug that issue..

That indicates that the plugin is working in background scanning for the content. The led should return to green when the scanning is finished.

Yes, disable the content scan on startup. It will also speed up the system startup and webMAN will be ready for use quicker.

I don't understand what you mean with "dial the internet"... do you use dial up to connect to internet?

It's hard to tell the cause with the information that you have provided... It could be a memory issue (e.g. scanning content with app memory container while in-game) or wm_proxy mapped to a plugin different to the one specified in the XML currently loaded or network could not be initialized properly or a hardware error, etc.

Disable the content scanning, reboot and try again... maybe the freeze happened only that time.

I apologize for the inconvenience
it was problem in my HD lol
Do you recommend SSD on PS3?

I'm driving myself insane trying to get to the bottom of this problem. I had Rebug 4.82 CEX running perfectly with webman mod. Decided to try the latest cutting edge Rebug CFW 4.84.1 and ended up corrupting the internal HDD, pulled my hair out fixing that with no backup of my internal...took a few nights to fix but ended up getting it back up and running smooth (after losing 1TB of games, saves and everything stored on the internal :sorrow: )

Now the frustrating part I'm stuck on now, I have the same external I had been running hooked up. 2TB with the first partition FAT and the second larger on NTFS. mmCM & Irisman read and launch all the files on the NTFS drive fine but webman refuses to see that partition and all the games stored on it no matter what I try. I'm at a loss. If anyone has any ideas of what to try I would really appreciate it. I've tried PrepNTFS, created a USB.CFG even though these seem to be outdated from what I've read in my researching of this issue but I'm still only seeing the files stored on the FAT partition in webman.

SSD in general have much better performance than mechanical HDD, specially on servers and laptops. However, I have read reports that the performance improvement using SSD on PS3 is barely noticeable. Only a few games will have a better loading time.

Here is an article about the subject:

First, make sure that the games in NTFS are in ISO format in PS3ISO. Jailbreak format (GAMES folder) is not supported in NTFS.

Second: make sure that you have installed the full edition (hold L2 when you install webMAN MOD). If you installed the lite edition, it will be able to see only the NTFS games scanned by prepNTFS. With the full edition you can use the file manager to check if the NTFS is detected.

USB.CFG is only required by mmCM when it cannot detect the hard drive with its default settings. IRISMAN and webMAN use a different library of functions that do not use that config file.

Also check in /setup.ps3 that the USB and NTFS devices are being scanned.

Testing a new feature in webMAN MOD 1.47.12 with the objective of increase PS2 compatibility to a similar level of ManaGunZ

Download: https://www.sendspace.com/file/ykcf6s
Download: https://www.sendspace.com/file/fwcqnb

This build now detects the game id for the PS2 ISO and automatically looks for the corresponding CONFIG file in ManaGunZ folder or in the wMM updater folder /dev_hdd0/game/UPDWEBMOD (if it haven't been deleted by the user) when the game is mounted.

The CONFIG file is searched in the following sub-folders: "CUSTOM", "NET", "GX", "SOFT" (in that sequence) and copied to /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO with the name of the ISO + .CONFIG

For convenience of the users, the updater includes a copy of the database of CONFIG files from ManaGunZ (in case the user doesn't have ManaGunZ installed). Credits to @Zar and everyone who have contributed to maintain the database of CONFIG.

If the PS2 ISO already has a CONFIG associated, that file is used without having to perform the aforementioned search.

In this build also the start of PS3MAPI server (port 7887) requires the option "PS3MAPI" enabled in /setup.ps3. That option is found in "XMB/In-Game PAD SHORTCUTS", next to DEL CFW SYSCALLS. If the option PS3MAPI is "disabled", the PS3MAPI server is not started (saving some resources at start-up). That PS3MAPI service in wMM is mainly used for the remote features of the PS3 Manager API tool, which is an optional replacement for CCAPI.

Note: When the option PS3MAPI is "enabled", the syscall 8 / lv1_peek (used by Cobra) remains active when the CFW syscalls are disabled with R2+TRIANGLE (except when psnpatch is used in conjunction, which removes all CFW syscalls -including syscall 8). The syscall 8 uses a "fake disable" and all disabled syscalls can be restored without reboot.

Looks like configs feature work fine. :) Can you add option to turn off that feature from webman settings?

Or at least tell me that it will copy config while there is one already named as iso. I mean does it overwrite config everytime game is mounted?
