NOTICE We sadly say goodbye to a great friend of the scene (R.I.P.)

Sadly we have bad news to report, the type of news that is never easy to relay to the community..
Our team and the PlayStation Homebrew community suffered a great loss a couple of years ago, when our great friend and an awesome contributor @UniqueUserName passed away.
We sadly have more bad news to share concerning another member of our the community and our team .

As if it wasn't bad enough already with passing of UniqueUsername, but some of our team's worst fears were finally realized very recently when we learned that one of our own, well known, well liked and very respected team member, a great friend to many of us, had also passed away some time ago, Sadly we have to announce @bitsbubba is no longer with us, but his spirit will remain with many and his influence/contributions will never be forgotten

We knew that bitsbubba was having some health issues and while he did get some good news for awhile, a return of cancer had seemly taken its course and a toll on his body.

This was someone who not just helped build psx-place.com & make it what it is today, but was a great member of the scene.
It is with a heavy heart full of much sorrow that we extend our sincere condolences to his close friends & family.
.

We welcome you to share some of your best memories and stories involving @bitsbubba.

Sadly I didn't know bitsbubba nearly as well as I would have liked. With all of the great things he did it's the way he treated myself and others that I knew him for. For example when I returned to the scene he was the first to welcome me and in a joking way. I wasn't planning to fully come back but instantly knew I was home.

When I came on the team I only remember a few people on the staff. Kozzy, pinky, sdw100, and bittsbubba. I didnt have to many one on one interactions with bits, but he was always involved in the day to day discussions in the forums. He always lightened the mood and had a great sense of humor on top of the limitless knowledge he always had for the site. Bits had a special way to keep the mood light while also staying on topic in the discussion.

I knew in the back of my mind something wasn't right for some time because it just wasn't like bits to up and dissappear like he had but had always held out hope he would pop back in and be a daily part of our place again. Bits will always be here at the place as an example of how good someone can be within the scene and never ask for anything in return.

I miss your jokes buddy and goin and back and forth with ya. I hope you have found peace and can continue to do the same wherever you are that you were able to do here for way to short of a time.

Thank you bitsbubba for allowing me to be a part of that.

"Official PS3 Scene Babysitter" bitsbubba was the first friend I made when I joined the PS3 scene back in 2011. We were both fresh to the scene at that point, and that could be one of the reasons we bonded early. He was always friendly, had a great sense of humor, and was willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could.

I remember when I got promoted to my first moderator position, and I tried to talk him into joining the team. There was a lot of drama in the scene at that point, so he was very reluctant to join. After about a year or so of my pestering him to join, he finally made it official and become one of the, if not thee, most liked members of the PSX-Scene moderator team.

Not only was he friendly, humorous, and helpful; but he was also extremely passionate as well. You can tell by all the projects he became a part of over the years, and all the goodies he created for the scene.

Many of our members who have been around awhile will know him as one of the site's Super-Moderators, and I cannot think of another who deserved the position more than him. He was always fair minded, and I cannot recall ever seeing him be mad. He would make everyone around him laugh and enjoy their time being a part of the community.

I can picture @nativesith and @bitsbubba looking down on us from somewhere up above with a smile and and cracking jokes. Two of my closest friends (and they were close friends with each other as well) from my time being a PS3 scene member, and two of the greatest people I have ever known. I hope one day I can see you guys again, and we can have a good laugh about all the fun times we shared.

Thank you for sharing your time on Earth with us. We miss you. We love you. Rest in Peace my brothers.

The community lost a respected contributor, psx-place lost a valued team member & some of us lost a good friend.

Bits had a way with people, he was easy going, very good humoured, he always had a nice word to say or a funny comment to make.
I also know how much he cared about a community to which he dedicated as much time as his life allowed.

But life can be cruel, it gives with one hand & takes away with the other.
You have gone where we cannot follow, you will remain with us though.
I will miss you, farewell my friend.

    May you rest in peace.

bitsbubba was a great friend in this community and someone who i spent alot of time with. Someone who i seen as a wonderful contributor at many places, he liked to help and he liked to do his part to help advance and progress the community and himself being a hobbist developer. He provided many solutions in the form of software and also with his words of wisdom that could be seen at his start over at tortuga-cove, Or later when i really got to know bitsbubba as we served on the same team over at psx-scene.com prior to us creating psx-place.com.

When i had decided to create this forum and site it was a descion that was not easy and one that wasn't rushed, but there was someone who i talked to and asked his thoughts and he was not only encouraging in his words he had my back and helped propel this site along with many other's but we have a missing voice and a void that can't be fulfilled as like so many of us in this community and world he was truly one of a kind and true gem to be around and a true hero in this scene for many reasons, bitsbubba will always be remembered for many great things and an awesome attitude and his legacy will carry on as psx-place marches forward in our fallen teammates honor.

We miss you Jason and we hope your have found a better place. Your spirit will remain strong with us all.

We from the PlayStation Developer Wiki are deeply saddened by the news that our long-time community member from the very first days of both PSX-Scene.com and PSX-Place.com, but also our long-time friend
bitsbubba passed away from a long battle of his illness against cancer.

Most of you will remember him for his various Homebrew Apps he developed such as his famous
COBRA CFW TOOLS, XMB Mod Collection, tons of different NFW Repos, REBUG Updater and more.
You will agree that to list all of them already deserves its own wiki for that purpose.

But that wasn't the only thing why he was such a highly-valued friend for us. His perspicacity but also
calmly behaviour in the Forums even on highly contentious matters together that he was one of the first members registered for the Forum to build PSX-Place as it is today after the shutdown of PSX-Scene showed us that he was a valuable member for the whole community you was always able to rely on in both good times, but also in difficult times.

But nothing above mentioned matters the most since he was also a great and helpful person both for our community, but also in private!

We will definitely miss him. Our late but deepest condolences goes to his family and his friends.

Rest in Peace 'bubba. Without your hard work, the whole community wouldn't be such superior as it became today!

I'm sorry to hear the passing of a scene member (may God have mercy on his soul)..Death is not the ending to life for it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

unfortunately, I couldn't find friday the 13th on amc. I was going to dedicate the viewing to bits, but if you have cox contour, they have friday the 13th available for free. you'll probably still have to sit through commercials, but it is free nonetheless. that is probably my favorite spook series, now more than ever.

thats really sad my Condolences to his family and his friends .
he was such a nice guy.i did know him we were both Moderator at psx-scene site. He was very understanding guy.
may his soul rest in peace

I know he mentioned he had fun with his son playing them, who really enjoyed the mods you guys made.

Just know you guys brought some good son and daddy times that i am sure his son will reflect on later in life as he thinks about his dad when he was a kid.

I am so happy to know that.. and incredibly sad at the same time. :C

I also have to give my thoughts and appreciation here

even I had not much connection to him, he was an essential person and I already have wondered where he is. he was the one, who has inspired me with mfw and fw modding

what is wrong with ps3 scene? users are dying without reason, so why not me goddam...

R.I.P.

R.I.P bitsbubba
Whenever somebody needed help or had a question if nobody else then bitsbubba was the one that responded very quickly. In those early days of ps3 scene I had a feeling that he lives in those forum posts and just waits for souls in need.

bitsbubba you were a good spirit on this world

I was browsing this site and saw this and thought I would give my condolences to bungholio and sign up on here. He was on the codemasters project forum a long time ago and I helped him with some PS2 hacking. Later on, he moved on to PS3 and I followed suit, 5 years ago. He helped me with a few things on PS3. I appreciated the time he took to teach me a few things on the PS3 as I did on PS2 with him. RIP BROTHER!!!! I also stopped hacking PS2 and PS3 back about 6 months ago and haven't picked up a controller since then nor plan too. I guess I grown up and moved on to other things then gaming. It don't interest me anymore. I'm officially retired from this scene.
