A very popular PS3 homebrew plugin has been updated by the talented developer behind the plugin we know as @aldostools, as he releases a new version of webMAN MOD for your jailbroken PS3 (this plugin CFW & PS3HEN compatible). The developer has dedicated this update in honor of our great friend [B][COLOR=#006600]@bitsbubba[/COLOR][/B] who we recently learned had lost his life due to battle lost to cancer..

In this update of the plugin Aldostools has alot of improvements, as the plugin itself has several issues that have been fixed as seen in the changelog included below, plus this update contains various changes to the suite of tools that accompanies the plugin with 73 commits being pushed to those tools

webMAN MOD is a very powerful plugin and provides a great deal of functionality to your jailbroken console (see 2nd tab), you can learn about the plugin here in the webMAN MOD forum and also at the guthub page here where additional details and the code can be found.

Hi.

Hi.
I've the last webMan MOD installed 1.47.31( i guess it's the full edition ), but nothing happened
when I've tried to record ( by pressing those keys ). Should I've any advice in the screen, like an icon to understand what i'm doing? After trying this step, I've checked the video folder and it was empty.
May be i've done something wrong.
About PS2 games, is there something available on webMAN MOD to change their internal resolution, when playing on PS3 ( i mean any tool, configuration, filter that improves PS2 games resolution, even on non BC compatible machines ).
These games are running without glitches on PS3, but resolution is awful if we take a look about we can get on windows, with PCSX2. However, on PS3 the gameplay is smoother.

Regards

Video is recorded only in-game. It's recommended to use the standalone video_rec plugin (SELECT+R3+L2+R2) to maximize the memory usage (it unloads wMM).

PS2 resolution options are very limited: they only can be changed in XMB Settings from Off/Normal/Upscaler and turn on/off smoothing
https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/gamesettings.html

Be aware that many CONFIG files disable some video features of the game to improve the performance or to avoid glitches.

thx aldo, but still dont work, i try install irishman and i dont have problems, why webman mod cant install on my console?

Good day!. I have been following the news almost daily for a long time, but I have some questions regarding webMAN MOD and IRISMAN :sem blush: (+)

BTW I am using 4.87.1 HFW / PS3HEN v3.0.2 / webMAN MOD 1.47.32

1 - webMAN MOD (PSXISO)

1
.1 - "Added support for multiCD PSXISO games stored in HDD0 / USB FAT32. Eject / Insert an USB0 device to mount the next CD", How exactly does this feature work?.

1
.2 - Can I create a sub-folder in "/dev_hdd0/PSXISO" to save a multi-disc PSOne game?.
Example:
/dev_hdd0/PSXISO/
"Sub-folder"/(Disc 1)-(Disc 2)-(Disc 3)...

Or is it only advisable to save all the discs in "/dev_hdd0/PSXISO" without creating any sub-folders?.

2 - webMAN MOD (PS2ISO) / .BIN.ENC

2
.1 - Can I create a sub-folder to save a PS2 game in ".BIN.ENC" format in "/dev_hdd/PS2ISO"?.
Example:
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix [SLPM-66675]/ISO.BIN.ENC

If so, can I change it to this format? Which is correct?.

A- /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix [SLPM-66675]/ISO.BIN.ENC
B- /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix [SLPM-66675]/SLPM-66675.BIN.ENC
C- /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix [SLPM-66675]/SLPM_666.75.BIN.ENC
D- /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix [SLPM-66675]/SLPM66675.BIN.ENC

2.2 - webMAN MOD automatically attaches the CONFIG files to the games in ".BIN.ENC" in sub-folders and does it support these formats?.

2.3 - Should I reinstall "PS2 CONFIG Database PKG" when new CONFIG files are added?. Are they overwritten or something? Should I manually delete an obsolete CONFIG files within a game folder if a new CONFIG is created?.

3 - IRISMAN

3.1 - IRISMAN cannot be updated automatically? Should you always uninstall and install a new version?.

+ Is there any way to extract compressed files in ZIP, 7z, RAR format? If possible, would it also work with multi-part files?.

That's it. are the doubts that I have had during this last year. I hope you can understand me, I do not write English very well. And I think this could also be useful to other users. I don't know anything about development, but I like to see every update, especially of webMAN MOD.

Thanks a lot

1.1 The feature is still experimental.
MultiCD file name must include " CD1", " CD2", etc. or "Disc 1", "Disc 2", etc.
While the PSX game is playing, eject or insert a pendrive in port dev_usb000.
If a "trophy" sound is played, the "_next" game in the history is mounted. Repeat again if you want the next ISO.
"_next" = SELECT+R1 on XMB. The USB eject/insert is used because the combo is not detected when PSX is playing.

1.2 Yes.
2.1 Yes. Yes. All formats should be supported.
2.2 Yes. Yes.
2.3 No.
3.1 No. Yes (but no need to uninstall). Only zip. No multi-parts.

Thank you very much for answering my previous questions Mr. Aldo.

@aldostools , can you make wMM detect CFW noBD? So the display in cpursx.ps3, for example firmware: 4.87 CEX noBD Cobra 8.2

Thanks.

It could be detected if you have a way to identify a CFW noBD.
e.g. a file in /dev_flash that only exist on noBD or some specific patch in LV1/LV2?

If you have that information, please let me know.

2.3 webMAN includes the PS2 CONFIG database for CFW. The encrypted CONFIG files used for PS2 Classics (and required by HEN) are only available in the database PKG (to keep the size of the webMAN MOD installer package small). The updates usually include new CONFIG files.

3.1 Homebrews usually can be updated without delete the current installation. If you get issues, then it's suggested to do a clean install removing previously the installed application.

"Widescreen Patches" and CONFIG files are patches. I'm not aware of any particular case, but there could be games that could have conflict.

Hi Aldo, after comparison of normal lv1 CFW and noBD, I get 4 differences in this offset:
(top row is normal CFW, bottom row is CFW noBD)

Code:

Thank you.

Another idea: wMM will use the PIC1.PNG in the ROMS sub-folder if the rom/game doesn't have the PIC1.PNG.

i.e: /ROMS/NES/blabla.nes
If there is no /ROMS/NES/blabla.PIC1.PNG
wMM wil use /ROMS/NES/PIC1.PNG
(The PIC1.PNG in each sub folder is an image of each console.)

You can test this build:
- noBD CFW detection
- The default ROMS background. It applies for PIC1.PNG and PIC0.PNG
Example: /dev_hdd0/ROMS/SNES/PIC1.PNG

Thank you Aldo, I have downloaded and copied webftp_server.sprx to /dev_hdd0/plugins, restarted the PS3 2 times, entered 127.0.0.1/cpursx.ps3, in the Firmware section: "noBD" is not displayed yet. And the default ROMS background (PIC1.PNG) doesn't appear.

I tried it using CFW 4.87 noBD Evilnat.

Thank you for the feedback.
I found the noBD pattern at 00712790. Try again the new build uploaded above.

If it is still not found, please check if the pattern is found at that address using /peek.lv1?<address>

For the PIC1, I was using the wrong variable. Please try that too.
