PS3 webMAN MOD 1.47.31 - Various Improvements & Fixes in new update dedicated to bitsbubba

A very popular PS3 homebrew plugin has been updated by the talented developer behind the plugin we know as @aldostools, as he releases a new version of webMAN MOD for your jailbroken PS3 (this plugin CFW & PS3HEN compatible). The developer has dedicated this update in honor of our great friend @bitsbubba who we recently learned had lost his life due to battle lost to cancer..

In this update of the plugin Aldostools has alot of improvements, as the plugin itself has several issues that have been fixed as seen in the changelog included below, plus this update contains various changes to the suite of tools that accompanies the plugin with 73 commits being pushed to those tools

webMAN MOD is a very powerful plugin and provides a great deal of functionality to your jailbroken console (see 2nd tab), you can learn about the plugin here in the webMAN MOD forum and also at the guthub page here where additional details and the code can be found.

Thanks Aldo

Just tried on PS3 CECH-2000, without BD Drive PS3ISO can't mount on app_home.
With BD Drive, PS3ISO can be played from app_home.

That's right, it's weird, why has NoBD patched but doesn't support ISO games?
I mean without BD-ROM.

Thank you for your feedback. ISO emulation relies on SCSI events from the BDVD driver.
As I suspected, the BDVD driver events fail when fake SCSI commands are sent on noBD :-(

For IRISMAN, multiMAN, webMAN MOD and sMAN, I recommend to install this package hosted by @DeViL303 :
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/multiman-cover-pack-v7-30.23748/

To create your own covers I highly recommend the PScoverBOX by @0_obeWAN
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/pscoverbox-1-0-coverbox-generator-for-webman.3186/

There is another tool by Rudi Rastelli that can be useful
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/rudi-rastelli-releases-ps3-cover-tool-v1-1.3676/

More I posted more about this subject here:
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/webman-mod-psx-ps2-covers.28587/#post-231796

Thanks Aldo, the information you shared helped me to understand and create my own covers.

But now I have another question. How can I create covers for a PS2 game in BIN.ENC format that is inside a folder?. and the same with a PS1 multidisc game (.bin / .cue) that is inside a folder. I want each disc to have its own image.

Hi Aldo, I have a theory, when select a game JB from wMM, run EBOOT.BIN first then mounting it, I think it will be work like a direct boot.

Usually, to play JB games, mount first and then play. I mean running EBOOT.BIN while mounting the JB game.
I think it will work like direct boot.

I still don't get what you asked. Anyway I will try to answer what I think you asked:

JB games have EBOOT.BIN signed as retail (non-NPDRM).

For direct execution of a game from XMB, the EBOOT should be signed as NPDRM or executed from app_home/PS3_GAME (here the EBOOT can be NPDRM or retail).

Games with updates have 2 EBOOT (the original EBOOT in the retai disc and the EBOOT from the update that is signed as NPDRM). These games can boot directly changing the CATEGORY in PARAM.SFO to HG. If the disc is already mounted or the content is copied to the internal HDD, the game can direct boot. It may require the LIC.EDAT (I don't remember if it's only needed in OFW or if CFW requires it too. IIRC there is a patch in CFW that allows to omit the LIC.DAT, but I may be wrong).

For direct boot from app_home, the JB game should be mounted in that path and executed from that icon.

Backup managers have a direct boot option, but have 2 major issues:
1- Savedata will use the title id of the backup manager
2- Most of the games will return error if the corresponding TROPHY.TRP is not found in a TROPDIR in the folder of the backup manager.

I think he means to move the cursor in XMB on top of the icon of the "mounted" game and click cross button in it. All this made automatically
No, I mean, during the mounting process, we run EBOOT.BIN, maybe it will work like a direct boot.

EBOOT.BIN took a few seconds to check /dev_bdvd, so I thought it would work.
