Launchpad is a separate optional addon for WebMAN (Mod by @aldostools). Launchpad is ONLY compatible with Rebug 4.80 for now.

You can get the installer here if you would like to try it out (the installer can also install XMB Package Downloader if required):
Download Launchpad v0.11 and XMBPD v0.31 (Rebug 4.80 only)

What Launchpad is is a different GUI for launching games via webman (it uses a modified version of "Whats New" so you will lose that "feature" when you install Launchpad.

If you have the full version of webman 1.43.29 installed it will automatically generate the xml required for Launchpad's game list.

Or you can switch off the option for auto xml generation in webman setup and instead manually add your games to the xml located at dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_launchpad.xml

Yes, I have just tested it here again to be sure.

Install the FULL version of Webman Mod by holding L1, then it every time the ps3 boots it will automatically compile the xml at dev_hdd0/tmp/ . You can check the xml with a text editor to be sure it has added your games.

Then if everything is working as it should you should see something like the video above. It will download the covers, So they might take a while to load up depending on your internet speed.

FYI @STLcardsWS I fixed installation instruction from:
:but l1: --- Installs the XMB VSH Menu (Optional)
:but r1: --- Installs the Full Version of the plugin

To:
:but r1: --- Installs the XMB VSH Menu (Optional)

It's a nice idea!
But i have games on my External HDD only on my FAT Ps3 with Rebug 4.80.
It seems not working with games on external devices :(

It should be working with any games that webman finds (up to a limit of 150 games) . Other people have used it with external drives. All my games are being served up over my LAN with ps3netsvr and they work too.

Are you sure you have the right webman mod installed? you can check this by making sure you have the checkbox to disable xml generation in webman setup. If you have the checkbox then you know you have the right version that's compatible with Launchpad.

Then you can check the xml and make sure your games are listed.

@aldostools: Here is something that 0_obeWAN mentioned, At the moment when just sitting on the xmb icon for Launchpad without entering it this only shows the first 3 games which keep spinning around and repeating. bitsbubba discovered that if there is a place holder added to the bottom of the games list with a future "lastm" date it then scrolls all games.

So maybe in a future update to WMM the xml generator it could add this entry to the bottom of the xml if possible:

Code:
<mtrl id="1080000150" lastm="9999-12-31T23:59:00.000Z" until="2100-12-31T23:59:00.000Z">
<desc></desc>
<url type="2"></url>
<target type="u"></target>
<cntry agelmt="0">all</cntry>
<lang>all</lang></mtrl>

This is tested and working here. another option instead of having an empty place holder would be if the last game had that lastm date but im sure that is not so easy to code and it really doesn't make much difference.

BTW: the latest xmls without all the countries are 90% smaller, nice one. :)

Yes i have the right version.
wm_launchpad.xml has been compiled, but no games is listed in the Launchpad GUI. I don't know why :)

Maybe the cache hasn't been cleared for some reason , You could try going to your dev_hdd0/tmp/explore/ folder and delete the nsx folder, then reboot, the ps3 will recreate it on start up. If that doesn't work im not sure whats up..

Ok i' ve found something.
It work with internet connection enabled and running. I am able to see the games when enter to the What's new section, but no preview is shown. This is for Games on Internal HDD.

For Games on external HDD, i have an error.
Precisely, error 80032015.
After launch prepNTFS v1.14, if i press X on webMan Launchpad, it give me that error. :confused3:

Yes you will need your internet connection working and enabled for this due to the remote covers. (also "Whats New" doesn't work without internet so a connection is definitely required)

Im not sure if I can help, try giving it a little more time to load before you enter it maybe, I have seen an 800... error a couple of times when I tried to enter the Launchpad too quickly after booting up or exiting another application (exiting and entering it again solved it on those occasions). I havnt used prepNTFS so I cant give any advice on its compatibility right now.

@aldostools
About PS2 PSX PSP's ISOs just have the extension .JPG in <url type="2">
I think 2 solutions
1/ idea is to detect/copy ISO name and paste it with web characters
Code:
<url type="2">http://ps3extra.free.fr/covers/Marvel%20ultimate%20Alliance.PNG</url>
<target type="u">http://127.0.0.1/mount_ps3/dev_hdd0/PSPISO/Marvel%20ultimate%20Alliance.iso</target>

2/ idea is to detect ISO type with folder name and generate the link to point to picture type
Eg covers/PS2NOTFOUND.JPG, covers/PSXNOTFOUND.JPG...

Hope it coulds help

@0_obeWAN

Thank you for the bug report. I went with the solution 2 (if the title id is blank, it will use NOID.JPG)

You can try this test build:
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/webftp_server_launchpad.sprx

src: http://aldostools.org/temp/test/games_xml.h

@DeViL303
I also added to this build the suggested place holder at the bottom of the xml.

Regarding adding PS2 and PSP to the top, the content is added in the same order that they are scanned/discovered.

To sort the content in any order would require a complete rewrite of the algorithm.

Regarding the xml being 90% smaller, in this test build I increased again the limit to 300 to see what happens.I suspect that the previous errors could be caused by the generated xml was larger than 2MB.

@LizZo
I don't know about that error 80032015, but it seems it could be caused by a malformed xml (the xml is still being generated after you launch prepNTFS).

Try to wait for the popup message "Refresh XML: OK" before you access the LaunchPad.

I had this error before. Caused by bad PS2 ISO naming with "&" character
Solving with renaming ISO name with supported characters :)

Seems good here, It generated an xml with 188 items for me (inc functions) . It also adds the NOID.JPG properly and Ive added that jpg to the server along with a PNG version.

It did not add the place holder item though..

@all: I am also hosting the covers in .PNG format if anyone wants to try those. The PNG's have been through the coverbox app (thanks 0_obeWAN) and are displayed differently -ie: inside a PS3 case. The JPG's are just the normal covers from the multiman cover pack.
