PS3 webMAN MOD v1.47.01 - NEW Stable version with latest inclusions from Aldostools

After some testing builds where issues were introduced in the latest updates of webMAN MOD there has been some significant progress that has produced a new Stable release (v1.47.01) after some exciting new inclusions are added to the popular ps3 plugin that takes deank's webMAN (vanilla) plugin and adds a variety of additional features and functions. In some of the latest updates Aldostools has tinkered with deank's slaunch (since evolved into sMAN) and has some modifications that differs from the approach in deank's sMAN, There has been alot of development of this plugin lately by developer aldostools and some regressions did arise while implementing some of these latest additions, but all has fixed., The developer recommends anyone that was using the various v1.46.xx - v1.47.00 builds/commits to update to v1.47.01 which is consider a much more STABLE build.

I've recently changed to an ntfs drive and have to manually copy my cover art into wmtmp, then refresh xml again for them to show. Sman does this automatically when refreshing game list. (Hint hint) ;)

As for missing games you may need to increase webmanmods memory usage in the setup web page. I need to use the "standard" setting to get all my games to show.

Has anyone found a fix for the grey line going across the top of the screen in slaunch. I've tried deleting the pictures out of hdd0/plugins/images with no luck. Don't know if it matters but I'm using a 50inch tv

thank you, another thing, when I turn on my ps3, I hear a beep, somthing like a whistle that i hear in psn, still after installing webman mod 1.47.01. is there a way to turn it off please ?

The sound comes from slaunch.sprx. The build in the link below doesn't have the startup sound, I include it in the next update of webMAN MOD:
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/slaunch.sprx

Thanks @aldostools but I'm slightly confused sLaunch won't load without webman enabled but you guys said you can't enable webman and sLaunch together enabled so how would I load sLaunch?
I did generate slist on 4.80 rebug and uninstalled webman mod reinstalled filmware and the old things from webMAN MOD 1.47.01 are still there like load vsh menu etc from webman setup how do I remove this?

sLaunch MOD is an optional addon for webMAN MOD 1.47.01 and later.

sLaunch MOD requires to have webMAN MOD running. So both plugins should be enabled in boot_plugins.txt (in Rebug, webftp_server.sprx can be omitted from boot_plugins.txt if you have it enabled in Rebug Toolbox).

It is sMAN that cannot be loaded together with webMAN MOD or sLaunch MOD, because sMAN already integrates both plugins (without the extra features that I added to the "MOD" editions).

.but what about the full or lite versions? do I need to run webftp_server_full.sprx in addition to the webftp_server.sprx ?

All editions (full, lite, rebug, nonCobra, etc.) are the same plugin compiled with different features to save some memory. You only need to install ONE of them... If you want to have all the features, install the full edition only.

These are some scenarios:
- Minimal features with minimal memory usage & without GUI ->install only webftp_server_lite.sprx (vanilla)
- Basic features + GUI with very low memory usage -> install only sMAN.sprx
- All 'MOD' features -> install these 2 plugins: webftp_server_full.sprx + slaunch.sprx

I haven't experienced this issue yet... Could you verify if it is cause by some of the icons of your games?

It works perfectly when only scanning ps1 and ps2 games but I have only 3 in total so must be one of my 288 ps3 games causing the issue. Is there any way I could check the covers manually

sLaunch MOD only loads 10 or 40 covers at a time (so it doesn't matter if there are 288 games or more). Maybe the icon that corrupts the memory is one in the first page. You could try changing the cover type from MM Covers to ICON0 in /setup.ps3 and refresh the XML again. If you choose online covers slaunch MOD will show the disc icons.

I Will try some trial and error and report backif I find the culprit.

I'm alredy using webMAN MOD 1.47.01 + prepNTFS_1.17.pkg
From
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/releases/tag/1.47.01

I did a full install.
But i don't understand how Covers works.

If i setup covers i need to do into Internal HDD in TEMP folder.

Should be nice if Webman and Sman could read covers from External HDD, but i think the problem its NTFS.

The covers usually go to the "classic" path which is \dev_hdd0\game\BLES80608\USRDIR\covers i usually name them using the game region code (blesxxx, blusxxx etc)

like the nds bootstrap on the 3ds? originally, the covers would have to be named the same thing. the person who would host the covers would have them named after release number. ugh. now, it'll download all of the covers automatically within the app, and the names will be change automatically. ;)

wMM search the covers in several places:

1-The easiest setup is configure online covers.
(This setup is compatible with "My Games" menu on XMB, LaunchPad and HTML, but not with sLaunch MOD)

2-Alternatively you can use IRISMAN or multiMAN to download the covers, then wMM will use them. If you use online covers, wMM will search for the local covers and use them if they are found.

3-You can also install the Covers packs for multiMAN.

4-Or you can add the covers manually to /dev_hdd0/BLES80608/USRDIR/covers or to /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp or to /dev_hdd0/GAMES/covers

5-You can also put the covers inside the ISO folders, with the same name of the ISO but with the extension changed to .jpg or .png (or .JPG or .PNG). For NTFS use the latest prepNTFS 1.17

I use option 5 on your list (jpg artwork in iso folders), but covers must be copied manually into wmtmp.

I tried prepntfs (which I thought was redundant now), but that only copies psx covers and a handful of png icon files for ps3 games (16 out of 54 games get icons). But none of the ps3 jpegs are copied.

Edit: It appears something had been writing png and sfo files for some of my games to the ntfs drive... scary stuff. Guess that's why it copied a few png files and no jpegs? Will experiment some more tonight.

sman (not slaunchmod) takes care of this automatically when refreshing. Might be worth pinching a bit more of its updated code. :)

Note: I have "disable multiman covers" checked as it generally gets the wrong covers compared to my discs, so being the anal prick I am, I manually fixed and resized all ~300 images. lol

As I commented in option 5, I suggest to try the latest prepNTFS available in github. Last night I made some changes regarding the detection of the external images (named like the isos). It also creates smaller raw sector files (aka .ntfs[*) that are compatible with 1.47.01
(Note: This change saves faster due only few bytes are written instead of files of 64KB; but it can break the compatibility with all previous builds that check that the size of these files must be >4KB).

Just redownloaded everything again and cleared out my temp files etc. Something's very strange about it...

First run it got all psx covers, but only about 1/3 of my ps3 covers.

After running prepntfs it would lose half of my games of the list completely, even after cranking webmanmod up to max memory setting. (Normally only need standard setting to show all games)
Refreshing xml from webmanmod and restarting would bring them back though.

Took about 6 or 7 goes of running prepntfs, then manually re-scanning again via webmanmod to get all the games to show again before it eventually got all the PS3 covers.
Couldn't see any pattern to it, got the first 6 covers or so... missed a bunch, few more here and there...
Each run seemed to gain an extra cover or two...

Also, now I know what has been writing SFO files etc. to my NTFS drive. (although no PNG files were extracted this time). Is it really necessary to write to that drive when scanning? Still not too keen on r/w ntfs mode after being burnt many years back with sketchy ntfs linux drivers occasionally corrupting the filesystem and needing a windows box to repair it. ;)

Hello, and thank you for all your work @aldostools !
I'm rusing rebug 4.81.2 and after updating to webmanMOD 1.47.01 stable I notice webman setup menu doesn't load anymore. I have about ten ps3 games on external ntfs that load fine and one ps2 game on internal that loads shows up too in the menu. Every controller shortcuts works fine too, the only thing not showing up is the set-up menu (with refresh xml, refresh games and so on). Do you know what it could be related to ?
Thank you in advance for your answer !

Edit: Nevermind ! I re-installed Rebug 4.81.02 and it worked !
Edit 2: after installing 1.47.01 again, same bug, will download pkg again and keep you updated
Edit 3: nope same problem... had to go back to 1.46.xx. Is anyone having similar issues ?

Missing WebMan_EN.xml file

rename or copy from
/dev_hdd0/game/XMBMANPLUS/USDIR/FEATURES/webMAN.xml
to webMAN_EN.xml

i always use rastelli's tool to download covers and then convert them using PScoverBOX 1.0 by 0_obeWAN.
