ylod means you turn your console on and it shuts off right after.ylod means shutdown itself after 5 seconds
am I right?
slim models and up don't even get to display the yellow light.
The only ones that will are the phat ones.

I was playing with the fan speed and syscon so the temp in 45% fan speed was around 59° and 60° (CPU and rsx) in Gran Turismo 6, meanwhile syscon went to 72 ° and 74° (CPU and rsx).68 is default, and probably a good one to set it to, so that it's not too loud.
I know you're right, but, I just had a very bad experience with a Xbox 360 and the rdod, so on with a PS4. I just want to help as much as I can to managing a reasonable temp.I just wanna say if any of you think that 70c and around that is overheating...
guess what.
It' aint.
My 3003 just been repasted today and the cpu runs always cooler than the rsx.
My slim's been running for hours and running Ridge Racer 7.
Temps : CPU : 60 RSX : 67
SYSCON.
yes you heard me. Syscon. Because limiting things won't solve any problems.
My other slim 2503b was same crap.
And the one before that died of YLOD and it was limited to 60c MAX.
So guys... seriously.
Play the games and stop worrying about them temps.
If anything goes over limit the console will shut itself down as a warning.
Want a bit of an advice?
Keep yo consoles clean and repaste it in another 8 years time.
Cheerioh!
Thanks for ur time, appreciate it.those temps are fine. 80+ is when you should be concerned, I think.
w0rd.ylod has a quick yellow led flash before it starts flashing red. you need to pay attention to what the lights do, because the yellow led flashes quickly.

Also, I read that super slim is capable of higher temps, so what do u think?

Thanks for the time!w0rd.
if that happens it's very hard to spot it.
superslim can handle same temps as the slim. it's the phats that overheat the most.
those temps are normal mate plus you're playing one of the most demanding games on the platform apart from the last of us.
another thing mate... this is no xbox and this is a ps3 not a ps4.
so like i said , as long as you keep it clean and you are sure that your thermal paste in it's lifetime period then there's nothing you should worry.
really.
and limiting temps and overworking fans won't save you either.
just my advice.
bro seriously both my slims ylod'ed (blacked out) and not a single yellow light. seriously!ylod has a quick yellow led flash before it starts flashing red. you need to pay attention to what the lights do, because the yellow led flashes quickly.
np enjoy your ps3 and welcome to da Scene! Thanks for the time!
bro don't worry about the xbox and them ps3 blinking lights this is no car XDthere's a secondary error code based on which lights turn on. it's mentioned on psdevwiki:https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Boot_modes#LED_Diag_Mode it seems to be like the secondary error code on the 360. only difference I believe is that for the 360, it has to be rrod, but then again, a lot more is known about what specifically has gone wrong. there's very little information about diagnostic mode on the ps3, but it seems to be possible to do even when the system is fine.
hahahahaha! nerd!they have custom boot animations for the 360, and I remember someone making ones with actual error codes to make it look like something was wrong. you can also get a faux rrod if you unplug the system slightly. do that to a friend.![]()

Yeah, I already chose the syscon and im playing as ive been doing so far. Thanks for everything!Derich.
You can run syscon perfectly safe and sound.
72 and 74 are good temps.
The chips are doin' their job properly.
They were built and meant to run that way.
Let's not create any problems where they don't exist , seriously guys.
If any problems arise... I know what they are and I'm not going to explain them because I don't want anybody start panicking about their console temps.
Happy gaming!

No, i am not really into the Brazilian Repair Schemes, because i know how terrible thoes Home-Made "Gambiarras" can be, just to get it working, but without any professionalism involved in the repair, but again, if its stupid it works, i always learn a thing or two, but even if the method X works, you still need to do it in such a professional way, so you know you've done something right, to a point that you are assured that problem isn't going to happen again, but again Brazil isn't the only one with the "Gambiarras" Card up they're sleeve, remember Reflowing a Yellow Lit Board, yes YouTube Algorithm remembers it! At least the Brazilian Repair scene works, some jobs may be amateur level, but at least it works in a good manner.bro seriously both my slims ylod'ed (blacked out) and not a single yellow light. seriously!
1st one just died 2503b model.
2nd one was provoked by me by removing ihs on rsx.
just simple turn on console goes off . and that's it.
they give you a symptom that makes you think there's a problem with the power supply when there's not. I swear.
lots of slims and superslims have same problem which i'm pretty sure it's ylod and they won't even give you the yellow finger.
nakedsnake will tell you since he's really into the brazilian repair ps3's scheme.
Couldn't care less what other people think.RSX Temp going higher 15c than CELL during game is completely fine? You are the first person that has ever said that.
