but which number matches which language?
I don't know. Not sure if that is explained anywhere.
If its not, One way to find out would be to make 20 PIC1_XX.PNG with the name of the PNG showing on screen like this:
Then change the system language to see what PNG matches to what setting.
On a related note, did anyone know we can use PIC0.PNG too in all pkgs? I never see homebrew or games using it so not sure if its a new discovery.
EDIT: Now i see its explained on the wiki. So not new. Just never used really.
The numbers for each country are shown there ^^
PIC0 and PIC2 are optional, and the PS3 is going to load only one of them... so you are supposed to create 2 images pretty similar... but at different sizes
When displayed they "hides" the TITLE text from the PARAM.SFO (this could be an annoyance dependng in what you want to do)
And yes, multilanguage is suported, you can add up to 20 images for the 20 languages supported by the PS3, use the number codes from this table (same with PARAM.SFO in the TITLE_xx... replace that "xx" by the language number code)
There are many games that uses multilanguage TITLE_xx and ICON0_xx.PNG PIC0_xx.PNG etc...
But usually are triple AAA games from big companies (or companies property of sony) that invest a big amount of money to add multilanguage support to the game
@aldostools @DeViL303 i hexed aldo's param.sfo for multi languages just fine
only having issues like RUSSIAN, Chinese and Japonese language, their language characteres doesnt work in hex?
I leaved it like Reload XMB but in Russian and so on :P
Edit: Google translate also provides in unicode language
@aldostools editing ur multilanguage param.sfo
I realized that Danish,German and Spanish are off center.
Checking the hex they have some code before where it starts in their names
They are 0D 0A and the other that are correct is 00 00, but setting them to it will make them in English
How can i solve this?
I remade it in hex from the beggining and now its fixed
Thanks guys, i got all Pic1 translated and all the param.sfo languages all well
Now that i learned it i will update my mod and make it for HEN as well and multi language support
What about PARAM.HIS?
and there is anyway to make XMB MOD Manager MultiLanguage?
cuz it loades the text inside the self, but is there any with like pointing to txt files?
The PKG installer in the firmware have special functions to process the PARAM.HIP (not the PARAM.HIS)
The package installer reads the .HIP from the PKG and converts it to .HIS
Then the XMB loads the .HIS (not the HIP)
In other words... officially the HIP only exists inside the PKG... and the HIS only exists in he PS3 (when the PKG is installed)
If you include a PARAM.HIS inside the PKG the package installer treats it as a generic file
Now sure which mod you mean, i guess im not used to it
I'm on CFW but I get an error while installing the pkg, can someone help me?
You need to have dev_blind mounted to install this pkg. It can be mounted with with wMM or other apps.
- Enter multiMAN/mmCM,
- Go to Settings > Write Access to /dev_flash > select Enable,
- Quit from multiMAN/mmCM,
- Installing the pkg.
Thanks guys, worked flawlessly btw is there a way the owner of PSN Patch updates his hombrew?
RESOURCE UPDATE v1.10:
Now works on HEN and CFW so I have changed the name to "Advanced Power Options" and increased the version to v1.10.
Used a sprx that is signed with 3.55 keys to work on HEN
For CFW users there is no need to update, no other changes.
HEN and CFW users, Make sure you have dev_blind mounted to install this. Otherwise you will get a 8001003A error and it will fail to install properly.
This installs a Boot OtherOS pkg to dev_hdd0/packages/ obviously that is only for CFW so if you dont need it, or are on HEN, then just delete that pkg.
