PS3 [Update] multiMAN 04.85.01 - Official Update from deank adds 4.83-4.85 CFW Support + PS3HEN Support

/Original: Appears that developer @deank has pushed an official update for the popular PS3 Homebrew known as multiMAN (or mM). We have not seen an official update since firmware 4.82 (albeit from some unofficial modified version, that were not ideal), there was not much of a need for an update since the previous official update of 4.82 worked fine as is on 4.83 /4.84 / 4.85. In that time Sony's changes in 4.8x era of firmware were minimal and presented little changes for the PS3. The only thing that was missing was firmware detection of 4.83 and greater, as it was impossible for the application to know the offsets of future firmware's. However, deank quietly pushed an update via the applications online update. This new update provides official support for CFW 4.83 - 4.85 which will recognize and properly fix the cosmetic issue and display the new firmware presents.

Other then that its the same old classic multiMAN, which is not a bad thing as this was and still is an iconic applications for the PS3. This powerful Homebrew is packed with tons of functionality for your cfw enabled PS3, Regarding support for PS3HEN user's I am not sure as of writing this if this version supports PS3HEN fully, (see 04.85.01 update) nothing is mentioned so we should not assume. On brewology there is an unofficial multiMAN 4.84 PS3HEN version (* in previous releases), but not sure how compatible many of the feature are (maybe we could have user's comment below with some feedback regarding ps3hen) PS3HEN user's in general should also realize that many PS3 Homebrew apps were created with CFW in mind. so there can be compatibility issue with some features..Note that ManaGunZ is supporting PS3HEN w/ a special PS3HEN mode that will disable the CFW features.​

  Hopefully it is now fixed in 4.85.01 - I just had no time to add the change in the previous update. Let me know if the problem is resolved.

Im in a ps3 super slim CECH-4201C with the last hfw and the last hen, this message appears with all my iso games on a usb hdd, also didnt work with a pendrive.

When i instal Multiman, and Enable HEN.
the Fan in my PS3 suddenly noisy.
but if i remove Multiman and Enable HEN.
the PS3 still normal (no noisy there)

The "noise" comes from your console fan (the thing that prevent overheating) the sudden peak is part of multiman running the fan on a faster rpm to optimize internal heating (my guess), you can revert back to factory fan levels or tweak the controls manually in the multiman options. But I think its actually better to let itrun on faster rpm's than the factory syscon.

u can just open ps3 clean and apply new thermal paste. use arctic silver 5 its the best
and then use webman and setup your fan at 35 %.

 

I havent updated mutiman or the new hen...
i am about to...
...there is a issue whwhen i try and copy a disc psx ps2 or any disc....
it wont....but it did....now for some strange reason it doesnt....
Hopefully it will be fixed with this update

 

Hello.

How about the behaviour over mount-in NFTS hdds (Driver PFS)? I always have problems trying to mount the hdd NTFS disk or that sudden "shut-down" from the HDD when it trying to load the HDD in ntfs.

With Managunz i have zero problems, but is "slow" in transfers rates. I missed an option to disable dev_usb00x (unmount), because the some HDD take time to sleep and disconnect safely or are stuck always running.

Twice now I've had to delete and re_install this update. If I shut down the console via the mM menu, after a restart of console, mM will refuse to boot and hang console, it hangs up console so badly that a power off complete is required.
It's the same fail to boot that webman was blamed for which I don't have installed. Also disk in drive or item in USB was also blamed, which I also don't have.
I'm running latest HFW and latest HEN on superslim.

 

Guys i need help my ps3 fan starts when i turn on my ps3 and then stops completely until it shut down from temperature... i changed the settings in webman mod but nothing seems to work please if anyone knows something i wanna know how to fix it.

Excuse but a icant open showtime/movian, the console crashes in black screen.
I have ps3 super slim with 4.85 HEN

I'm using this on my Super Slim but multiMAN doesn't allow me to dump my original discs.
In mmCM the inserted disc doesn't even show up. When I switch to mm standard mode, the disc shows up but when I try to copy it I get an error: "Operation not allowed".

Is this a known limitation on PS3HEN Super Slim consoles or is there anything I can do?

Okay, after all these hours of thinking and testing I managed to copy the disc contents as well as an ISO image in multiMAN standard mode file manager. However neither format can be launched after mounting.

JB folders: black screen
ISO: Error 80010017

I suspect the dumps are encrypted.

Any help appreciated.

Not updated but its not really needed. so i doubt deank makes an update. he typically just does so out of a need now..

Basically its just cosmetic things (i.e. since it does not know 4.86 FW it wont display it as a firmware version.) But will still function as it did because there has been no kernel changes in the firmware's sony releases./ This has been the cases for the last 5 or so firmware updates.
