PS4 (UPDATE v2) PS4HEN Update Blocker Payload by CelesteBlue & LightningMods

Update (v2):
Progress continues on the PlayStation 4 since the release of 4.05 Exploit by SpecterDev a little over a month ago, since then we have seen several things make its way to aid the exploit such as PS4HEN (by wildcard) then we seen that followed the flatz unlocking the PS2 Classics on the PS4. We have also seen methods of dumping your PS4 Disc Games/PSN Content like this one from Vortex. We have been seeing alot of progress but still lots to achieve yet in the PS4 scene so it should be a fun journey, but if your on 4.05 and obviously may not want to update to stay on the journey but fear of accidentally installing a firmware update FEAR NO MORE, LightningMods & CelesteBlue have provided a PS4HEN payload combine with Update Blocker to help prevent you from accidentally leaving your v4.05 firmware

Release Notes

  • PS4HEN-Update-Blocker-Payload
    This Payload contains Debug settings, Update Blocker, and HEN in 1!​

    The update blocker creates a folder in /update and unlinks the folder DO NOT REMOVE IT You WILL still get the notification of an update, let the update download to 100% then you will be greeted with a "Cannot Download" message and will not allow you to install the firmware update, so now no worries you cannot update it accidentally... You can use @LightningMods website to inject it without injecting it via PC​

I read something about that, but I don't know anything about it. it could be a rumor. that's about when the system got usb storage support, isn't it? I do remember reading something about usb storage being in the debug settings, but it's as of yet, hasn't been unlocked. that's for 4.05.

I'll believe when I see it. he hasn't released much of anything. though, he is listed as one of the devs behind the 4.05 or at least he helped the dev who released the exploit. I find qwerty to be all talk, so I'm incredulous atm. it would be good news if true. I think you're pretty limited on 4.05.

I read that the webkit exploit works up to 4.07, but the kernel exploit may work even on the latest firmware. I'm on 4.07, so I'm waiting on some good news here.

It's all working on 4.55 but the payloads need to be updated. There's a webkit exploit that works up till 5.05 and 5.50 beta but no kernel exploit, the old webkit exploit was good till 4.07 but this is a new one. Just got to wait for those payloads but shouldn't be to long.

well, good times are ahead. I think god of war comes out in April, so we'll see how things are going then. thanks for the info though. I'll make a note of that in my mind. :)

is there a backup loader for 4.55? I've heard that there isn't one currently, but I don't know how accurate that information is. there seems to be a lot of confusion with this release, but maybe that's because this exploit is new? I don't plan to update to 4.55 until everything is ironed, there's some homebrew, as well as a backup loader. I'm going to have to reformat my hdd in order to get rid of the old profile. then, I'm hoping to reinstall the games I bought to a new profile...if that's even possible. a part of me doesn't really care much about the ps4 though. I don't even play the system. that's probably why I've only skimmed the information.

I'll probably update soon. though, I wonder if I should just reformat my ps4 first since a banned account is on there. I don't plan to go online though. I'm afraid that if I did sony might ban the system. they might if a banned account tries to sign in or even if a banned account is on the system. this would mean losing my tales of zestiria and star ocean 5 saves though. I'm not far in either of them though. well, I might be a ways in zestiria but I only have a little over 3 hours in star ocean 5 awaiting a hack which has come. I was worried that I'd have to buy a new system considering. I bought that rare dq metal slime one from Japan with the metal babble thing that goes on top of the system. that thing has fallen off the system a few times by nudging it accidentally. you can place it anywhere you'd like on the system. I actually place it after the usb ports as not to block them. :-P anyway, I'll update once more progress is made. I'm already blocking updates as per my ps4 tutorial so no fear there. is this blocking payload working on 4.55 and did sony ever fix the download//install issues of earlier firmware, mostly the fact that the system ignores you no matter what selection you've made?.

The blocking payload hasn't been updated yet. For a overkill if you have a android tablet with hotspot or wifi usb/SD card you could use these to run the exploit without the need for the internet connection. I probably wouldn't format it abit like ps3 if there is still a activation on there for saves copying and whatever else might be needed you would lose these as you can't sign into psn. Just a thought.


Update: update blocker is now available use the website I linked and click 4.55 then update blocker

I think it's easy to block update files using ftp and creating the folders but yeah just use the link
