PS3 webMAN MOD v1.47.01 - NEW Stable version with latest inclusions from Aldostools

After some testing builds where issues were introduced in the latest updates of webMAN MOD there has been some significant progress that has produced a new Stable release (v1.47.01) after some exciting new inclusions are added to the popular ps3 plugin that takes deank's webMAN (vanilla) plugin and adds a variety of additional features and functions. In some of the latest updates Aldostools has tinkered with deank's slaunch (since evolved into sMAN) and has some modifications that differs from the approach in deank's sMAN, There has been alot of development of this plugin lately by developer aldostools and some regressions did arise while implementing some of these latest additions, but all has fixed., The developer recommends anyone that was using the various v1.46.xx - v1.47.00 builds/commits to update to v1.47.01 which is consider a much more STABLE build.

I just tried version 1.47.02 full version and webman or slaunch (1.08) do not load the game in xmb, only the sign that the game was loaded but the disk icon does not appear.
aldostools
I appreciate your work

Please, try with webMAN MOD alone (without other plugins, like vsh menu or sLaunch, loaded).
I also had similar issues when the other plugins were loaded, but it was too late... maybe I'll find some time in the week to continue testing...

Sorry you kinda lost me here. You mean I should unload the wMM plugin everytime I am shutting down the system ?

Try shutting down with L3+R2+X (shutdown combo in wMM) instead of using the Power button or the PS menu (Power off option).

Yeah basically this. Not sure if webmanmod has deans recent changes to how dynamic fan control unloads added in yet (restores syscon properly instead of going to manual ps2 speed fan mode when unloading the plugin).

But yeah, basically just shut down the system using the plugin, or if the plugin is already unloaded from being on PSN you can just shut down normally and save your ears from exploding on the next boot. :)

I just checked the latest source quickly & if I have not overlooked anything, it appears that currently, when stopping, just before unloading, the wMM plugin will set the fan control to manual using the ps2 emulator setting if those 2 conditions are met:
1. WMM fan control is enabled
2. Ps2 emulator temp is set at a value > 33%
If at least one of of those conditions is not met, wMM will set the fan to syscon mode instead.
Remember that you could also set up a custom combo to call a web command to unload wMM. With a web command you can specify whether to use syscon or ps2emu fan control.
Code:
// quit.ps3 Stops webMAN and sets fan based on settings
// quit.ps3?0 Stops webMAN and sets fan to syscon mode
// quit.ps3?1 Stops webMAN and sets fan to fixed speed specified in PS2 mode

When the plugin is unloaded the fan changes like this:
- If the manual mode is selected, the fan speed is not changed
- If the dynamic mode is selected the PS2 mode will be used (only if it is set > 33%).
- If the dynamic mode is disabled or PS2 mode is < 33%, the fan speed is set to SYSCON mode

BTW I have fixed the issue in 1.47.02 where the games were not mounted if sLaunch / VSH Menu was loaded.

Oh Man, that was fast !!! I already tried it and it works perfect.

Just one more thing, the slaunch opens with l2 + r2 but also if you hold down start, so Is it possible to remove the option to open it with start and keep only l2+l3?

i actually like the start button for opening sLaunch rather it be select but i think that has too many combos conected to it

So the info I posted was correct.
Thanks for confirming...

Latest version still having that problem, not scanning my NTFS Drive... even using prepNTFS, disabling sLaunch etc etc... isn't scanning.

Guyz thank you so much, shutting down with the combo indeed fixes the problem... I've had this for a year and a half but never bothered to ask and you guyz fixed it in a few minutes haha !

Aldostools thanks again for your great work and your dedication, wMM is so now so complete it is mesmerizing !

webMAN MOD supports split isos (*.iso.0-n) on all supported devices (hdd0, fat32, ntfs and netsrv*)

*For remote split isos it is required to use my fork of ps3netsrv.
My split games are not ISO but in BLES folder... and when I launch the last of us via webman I have a black screen.
The solution I found is to disable webman via toolbox and start the game with multiman

that was going to be my next comment JB folder format has limited compatibility on Cobra CFW & is old and obsolete there are plenty scene apps available for changing them to iso(split) for a 99.9% compatibility

Since Deank set the fan to syscon mode after sMAN is unloaded, i am wondering if it could cause some YLOD. I always heard that a temperature superior to 70° C is too hot at long-term for both CPU and RSX. Syscon mode seems to be not enough agressive. What do you think about that guys ?

It all depends on what console you have. There was multiple ps3 models with various die size reductions during its life span, meaning older chips can and will run hotter (safely) than newer newer models. The smaller the technology gets (uses less of the silicon wafer per chip, therefore cheaper to mass produce and more power efficient) the less heat they can tolerate.

I've never really looked into the details on each specific model, but due to the changes in technology you can't really set a definitive temperature for all consoles to run at. 70'C may be too hot long term on a new super slim running a 40nm die, but completely within spec and to be expected on a dirty old fat console with a 90nm die.

My fatty runs well over 70'C and has done for over 7 years now with no issue. If it was a super slim at those temps I may be concerned.
In saying that though, the cooler you can keep it, the longer it will last.
