PS3 4.84.2 REBUG REX + COBRA 8.1 Released (Rebug Toolbox Updated / Font Fix / ...)

Following the release of 4.84.1 REX a new update has been made by Team Rebug with the release of 4.82.4 REBUG REX (& D-REX) with the inclusion of COBRA v8.1 that we seen debut in @Joonie's latest PASTA (DEX) COBRA CFW. This update also corrects a long-standing bug (7 years) that resided in Rebug when trying to install in some region via Recovery Mode. Also PS3Xploit Support has been added (mostly for developer use), these features in REBUG REX and various fixes/changes can be seen below. Along with an overview of features REBUG REX can offer

Rebug.png
  • What's new since 4.84.1 REX/D-REX?
    • Installation issue fix (This has been bugged for the past 7 years due to missing the license agreement for 3 languages including English[UK], Brazilian Portuguese and Turkish. Certain users used to have a problem installing REBUG while on recovery mode, and this is finally resolved!) *no more data corruption error!*
    • Font fix: (some old games that use system font now display all letters correctly, Polish letter fix is removed due to this change )
    • PS3Xploit support: (The old webkit is brought back to allow PS3Xploit support, HAN can be used)
    • REBUG TOOLBOX 2.03.02 MULTI 16 (PS2 Emu swapper's removed as this became obsolete since Cobra 8.1)
    • Cobra 8.1 (Enabled by Default) source available via this link (Stage0 now supports kernel & VSH plugin on both Cobra and non-Cobra mode, loadoptical flag(for BC and SemiBC) is created at all time as long as stage2 is disabled, this is only beneficial to BC/Semi-BC users for those who don't use COBRA) More information available via this link

    • FEATURE – Dual LV2 Kernels CEX/DEX (Swap your EID0/LV2 kernel using Rebug Toolbox in seconds)

Folder rips are NOT compatible with PSNPatch's stealth mode due to its ability to disable COBRA's disc-less feature for folder JB rips****

Not sure what's wrong with your system. it loads fine on my system, both PS1EMU and PS1_NETEMU..

I have NTSC models like you do and running this "SLES-01734" just fine.

Tested on CECH-E01 [NTSC/US]

it's running at 1080p / 50hz (576p is available after the game's mounted due to COBRA's dynamic patching)

Try these couple of things

1. do system setting reset

2. change XMB Operation mode via REBUG TOOLBOX to Retail from DEBUG (if number 1 doesn't work)

Nope, doesn't work...

It will be something related to the PS3xploit and the HFW?
Maybe, something got corrupted ...
On both PS3, I did the same procedure to install the cfw...

Is there any way to go back to firmware 4.82 and reinstall everything again?

EDIT:
If I use IRISMAN, PAL games do work.

You can just install 4.82 CFW over 4.84 CFW

EDIT:
If I use IRISMAN, PAL games do work.
Irisman uses old IRIS method to load PS1 game instead of COBRA way which doesn't care about video settings

True. Only PS1 games stored in NTFS (and remote) use Cobra/Mamba method.

I opted to keep the "old IRIS method" for PS1 games because it's better than Cobra method ;)
Estwald added options for almost everything: multi-disc games, select emu, saves, boot directly, etc.

I have downgraded the version to 4.82 cfw ferrox, and everything works without problems ...
It should be a problem with cfw 4.84, I have reinstalled it and it stopped working again.

Try starbucks 4.84.3 see if that works

That makes no sense.. T_T

It's strange.
I tested it on the two ps3 (fat and slim), on two different tv's.
In both works the 4.82 works well, and the 4.84 gives me that error...
I hope in some update, the error will be fixed.
Thanks for the help, I learned some new things.

SOLUTION 1

-turn off the console, press the power button until 1 beep and release the button and configure automatically

-SYSTEM MODE to normal mode (rebug toolbox)

-after mounting the game with webman, go to (Settings> Screen settings> Video output settings) and Choose all the resolution included 576p [it's running at 1080p / 50hz (576p is available after the game's mounted due to COBRA's dynamic patching)] and then launch the game

SOLUTION 2

-SYSTEM MODE to Rebug mode (rebug toolbox)

-change XMB OPERATION MODE to Retail (rebug toolbox )

-Delete any webMAN configuration files & folders in /dev_hdd0/tmp/which names start with "wm". Delete the /dev_hdd0/xmlhost folder as well. and restart

recommendation: use hdd external with NTFS format

Anychance you can make a NoBD for this as well if you don't mind? to see if any PSX and/or PS2 works this time.
I'm Using Overflow 4.84 NoBD and it works well for me. It's only CEX but I don't find myself needing the DEX features too often. I havent gotten PSP games working but im not sure if thats me or the fw.

It's the firmware your in, PSP games work perfectly on Rebug 4.84 NoBD

last time i've played with all noBD cfw's available straight from the devs was in 4.82 era,and if i remember correctly only on rebug all backward compatibility works.ferrox and overflow with and without cobra had issues with psX or ps2 games or both,at least for me,or couldn't boot from the ntfs...

on rebug ps2 and psp games need to be on internal hdd,but at least they work, and in case of BC and semi BC models ps2 emu can be changed on the fly.

just be sure to flash only trusted ones, for example posted here form the devs themselves.there are numerous versions floating around the net, most of them are patched versions from random people that are unchecked and untested, and could lead to a brick.

Hi @Joonie. I was just wondering what you did in REBUG 4.80.1 that fixed the icons for "Custom Firmware Tools" on the in-game XMB?

EDIT: I have figured it out.

Nope, nothing seems to work...
Only works when I downgrade the firmware to 4.82...
The solution form me is the IRISMAN or convert all my pal games to ntsc (changing the game id, and patching to ntsc format)...

transfer your PS2 ISO files to the path dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/ via FTP, then use following managers to mount PS2 games. You can choose one of them at your choice, Managunz and webMAN MOD are the most recommended at this time.

1. Managunz
2. IRISMAN
3. multiMAN (mmCM)
4. webMAN MOD

i used managunz but my ps3 has been jammed
