PS3 [Research] Modifying the Gaia Visualization (custom_render_plugin/earth.qrc)

EDIT

with .jpg it recognizes, BUT..

uy0N8TM.png

EDIT

Now it doesn't recognize .jpg neither .png

Try with a png, I might have broken jpg support before release.

sQa9F1A.png

Tried 20x times in a row, it only recognized only 1 time, so it created the dds but QRCF PROCESS FAILED

now even with the 3 files types in the folder, it can't recognize them

yTXJ204.png

Option 1 searched foll all images, and it recognized the stars but i'm stuck now here about 10 minutes.

EDIT: the file has been created nowm but only 900kb.

Edit 2 haha: it worked but the earth is plain lol

Ok Yeah, I've been working on other stuff so forget exactly how this works, I need to look at this again. I was not really expecting people to only inject the stars. Not sure if it is stuck, It might be compressing it still, how quick is your pc?

If you do manage to only inject the stars without any other textures, you will end up with a black sphere.

It's a CORE I7U 7th generation, 16gb ram

What happened to the original colors? the original doen't looks like this AHAH

and the image has been mirrored in so many points

It seems like only the brightest spots of the image i injected are beeing show, and the colors changed

This is what i injected

Not sure yet, more research to be done, depending on the preset shown the background seems to be lit differently. You will notice in the official earth.qrc the stars are really dim in some presets and really bright in others.

Yeah, the stars image is mirrored into 4 for each face of the cube. not a great system. Hopefully someone can enable more textures..

Yeap, but in mine, it completely erased the background, the cool galaxy effect is gone

This is because of the various things/effects/settings being applied multiple VPO and FPO files which I have disassembled. At the minute I have put everything on hold to do with these files, and the SPRX that go with them, as I am building and setting up another PC.

Once i am done I will get back to it and see what can possibly be done in the way of adding.customising more things through CG graphic programming and maybe adding our own VPO and FPOs and I have no idea how long this will take to do.

EDIT: Forgot to add that on top of the VPO & FPO's you have the MNU files adding settings to all this as well.

where can i add the stars in the QRC injector?

I'm interrested in add this one as the stars

That image looks nice, but is not good to use it like that in earth.qrc

The problem is the image is going to be displayed 24 times like "tiles"... so it needs some preparation to make his borders to match in a seamless way, there are several ways to do it, the way how is made in this videos probably is the easyer

I have not had chance to try mnu edits on earth.qrc yet, but it might be possible to make it look better by editing those. If you want to try help, find out which of the 30 presets look best. You can use the sprx files from the first post to try each preset one at a time. Then once you know which ones show up the background the best, you can check the mnu settings used in the preset, compare the values. Try changes etc. Its slow going.

There are some settings that look like they might be related in earth.mnu:
Code:
STARS FACTOR:float:0.000105999
STARS POWSCALE:float:2.69992
STARS IN HDR:int:0
STARS SCALE:float:0
STARS WHITENESS:float:0.677

upload_2020-2-15_2-25-40.png

There is a lot of work to be done to figure out what does what here. Lots of very interesting looking values too:

Here are all the mnus and the path file from preset0 as an example, there are 30 of each of these. (370 mnus in total just in earth.qrc)

Just off the top of my head in the earth.mnu files altering the values of STARS FACTOR & STARS HDR to the value 1 may have some interesting results.

Just put a 1024x1024 stars.jpg or stars.png next to the 2.0.4 bat. see my last video

If you only want to inject stars then just have no flat maps in the folder, and select option 10. it will look for the flatmap, then skip them.

can it also extracts all content of the existing qrc so we can edit the extracted ones

i think the tool needs to have the original files inside of it, so it will only replace the ones in the same folder as the .bat

so anyone can change just one thing and place there and it will be repacked
